Bussmann Low-Peak LPJ-30SP – Dual-Element Time-Delay Fuse

Overview:

The Bussmann Low-Peak LPJ-30SP is a dual-element, time-delay fuse from the trusted Bussmann Low-Peak LPJ series. Designed for robust protection in industrial and commercial power systems, this Class J fuse provides reliable current limiting and delayed response to inrush currents — helping prevent nuisance openings during temporary overloads.

Key Features:

Amperage: 30 A — ideal for branch circuits, panelboards, motor circuits, and disconnect applications.

Voltage Ratings: Up to 600 VAC / 300 VDC.

Time-Delay / Dual-Element: Allows momentary overloads without blowing — perfect for circuits with high inrush loads.

Current Limiting: Reduces thermal and magnetic stresses on downstream equipment during short-circuit events.

High Interrupting Rating: Up to 300 kA RMS symmetrical at AC (600 VAC).

Non-Indicating: Standard version without blown-fuse indicator.

Construction: Cylindrical melamine body with ferrule terminations — fits standard Class J fuse holders.

Dimensions: Approximately 0.81 in × 2.25 in (Dia × Length).

Class J Fuse: Premium protection level with excellent current-limiting characteristics.

Benefits:

Long Time Delay — minimizes unnecessary fuse blowouts due to harmless transient surges.

Runs Cooler — dual-element design has lower resistance than standard fuses.

Smooth Coordination — consistent 2:1 ampacity ratios with other Low-Peak fuses for easier selective coordination.

Protects Sensitive Equipment — current limiting helps shield motors, controllers, and other downstream devices from damaging fault currents.

Applications:

Perfect for industrial control panels, branch circuit protection, power panelboards, machinery disconnects, and motor starter protection where both overload endurance and high-fault clearing capacity are required.
